This week’s W/A Family member is there and back again on a regular basis.  But working on the slope 3 on and 3 off doesn’t stop this drummer from being a part of the worship at MCA.  Click on W/A Family to read more.

This was a busy weekend for MCA worship 2009021 030teams.  Thanks to all the teams that lead the MCA family in worship in each of the venues and off site servicesrachel t 809c.  And thank you to Justin Wetzler who led the worship night Friday evening; great job. We don’t often  mention the Greatest Hits team in the weekend worship review, so kudos to the jazz team for their instrumental worship time that they led this weekend. This Sunday was Rachel Tevasue’s first time to lead worship in LIVE.  She and her team led a fantastic worship time.  Sunday Night jazz 11Greg and Lisa Meier and the youth band led the congregation itim r 809bn a worship time before the Calling Levi concert.  Tim Rowland and Weaver’s Creek also sang several songs before the concert; thank you all for blessing us with some great music.  And to top it all off Calling Levi brought down the house with their amazing vocals.  Their passion for the Lord came through loud and clear in their musictim r 809c, and they led a moving altar time at the end of the concert.  Thanks to Fred Downs, Deb Yazzie, and the sound team for making everything sound as best as possible.calling levi 1

Reflectors are a wonderful invention. By themselves they’re no big thing.  They don’t create light, they just reflect it.  But when there’s light around, the reflectors contribution becomes visible reflector 3and is a huge asset to our lives.  Reflectors help keep people safe by making the presence of an object visible that would otherwise be hidden in the dark. They reflect back our image when we look into them. The moon is one gigantic reflector that reflects the brilliance of the sun and lights up the night sky.

Our lives are designed to be reflectors.  We are not the light, we do not generate light, we reflect the light of God and His reflector 2glory to the world around us. As we worship we become like Him and His character is formed in us, and then that character is reflected to those around us. We can light up someone’s darkness by reflecting God’s light.  When someone who needs Jesus looks into our mirror they will see the love of Jesus looking back at them.  When it’s dark the light of God reflected off of our lives will make things that were hidden show up so people can see them so they can avoid harmreflector 1

While a reflector isn’t important in itself it can be a great asset to others when it’s doing its job of reflecting the light. We don’t have any claim to fame on our own; our usefulness comes from doing what we were created to do.  We don’t have to worry about generating the light or working something up.  We just stick close to Jesus and His light reflects off of us.  Today as you worship allow the Holy Spirit to work the character of Jesus in you and do some reflecting to the lost world around you so they can see the Savior.

Worship is a great way to finish out and to bring in.  Worship is just plain appropriate and wonderful for anytime in fact! Friday night, August 28th we will be celebrating another year of worship ministry and looking forward to another year, Lord willing and the saints don’t rise, of leading the MCA family in worship each week. We invite you to join us @ 7 PM in the sanctuary for some time in God’s presence thinking over what God has been doing this past ministry year, and praying about what God has in store for the next year.  See you there!

A few years back the WWJD theme was really popular; what would Jesus do? It made people stop and think and take another look at how they should be responding and what they should be doing.  This week’s article takes a look at what Jesus taught about worship.  To read more about WWJD for worship click on “Articles” at the top of the page.
