MCA worship writers have finally finished and released their first original CD. Sunday PM three of the writers joined Pastor Fay on the platform to talk about their songs and the CD. Everyone was very excited about being able to have their music go beyond the 4 walls of the church to touch the hearts of everyone who bought or received a CD from a friend. CD’s are available for $10. You can check with Vanda at the front desk or pick up your copy - and some for friends - after Sunday services. Proceeds go toward the next project.

The MCA worship singers and choral ensemble singers met last night for a two hour teaching session with vocal coach Michael More. Painting clear word pictures to drive his points home, Michael talked about the importance of solidifying the basics of good vocal techniques in for all singers. He likened the three main aspects of good technique to the tools a painter uses to create visual art. Through a series of exercises Michael helped us understand how to relax and breath correctly, create good resonance, and use proper vowel and intonation technique. Communication was another topic that Michael wove into the teaching, and singing with emotion rather than just singing words. The last 45 minutes we applied the teaching to some of the tunes we have been doing in church. After 15 minutes of working with us the change was amazing.

There will be training sessions every second and fourth Tuesday evenings @ 8 PM to practice what we have learned, and Michael will be back with us January 12th to continue coaching our teams. There’s never a dull moment in the LIVE services when Pastor Kent is in charge. This past Sunday in the AM LIVE services Pastor surprised everyone by bringing Gary
Cox in to lead worship in honor of Howard and Rezia Hansen’s commissioning. Several of the youth were leading worship with Greg and Lisa Meier’s team when Gary popped out onto the platform and finished out the worship service with the Meier’s and their team. Sunday night Gary led a great time of worship as well 
using a few familiar tunes and introducing a couple of new ones. Many thanks to Gary for his ministry. A big thank you to Greg and Lisa Meier and Justin Wetzler for being flexible and allowing Gary to step in and lead. And thank you to all of our venue worship teams who faithfully ministered in music this weekend. The Lord bless your work for Him!
Vocal coach Michael More will be conducting a vocal training session Tuesday, September 8th from 7-9 PM in the MCA sanctuary. All worship teams are strongly encouraged to attend this training. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced singer you will benefit from Michael’s coaching and will improve your vocal techniques and enhance your ministry. Any of the MCA family who would like to may attend as well and receive some fantastic teaching and vocal training.
We’re finally in the process of recording the CD or original songs by MCA songwriters. There will be 5 songs on this first project written by Mike Roux, Justin Wetzler, Greg and Lisa Meier, Tracy Hodges, and JD Chambers. There’s some good stuff there - wow! God has put some amazing writers in the MCA family. The bass, and drums are finished, and this week end we will add the guitar and keyboards. Next week we will rerecord the vocals and lead instruments and hope to be finished with the project towards the end of September.
